Welcome, this last Tuesday in July! It is time for another challenge over on the ColourQ. This week the images are Christmas as are the colors Arielle has given us to play with. The colors are, kraft, Early Espresso, Certainly Celery(retired), Real Red and white. Look through your stamps or supplies and see what you are able to come up with this week to inspire the us this week.
It is so very hot here that Christmas cards don't come easy. I first made a floral, then a Christmas card. The floral has a kraft card base and has two white mats. One is the frame with the oval die cut window. It has been hand stamped with foliage in Certainly Celery ink and a wood grain stamped with Early Espresso and rubbed with kraft ink. The background mat has been hand stamped with stamped off foliage, partially dry embossed with a small hexagon folder, then rubbed with ink and sequins from my Etsy shop added for sparkle. A flower stem and a butterfly have been hand stamped, water colored, fussy cut and glued to the card. The butterfly wings sparkle with glitter glue and again I used all the inks listed above.
The second card also has a kraft card base and is matted with white(which has been dry embossed with the tiny dots folder). I used the oval die cut from the previous card, thus I did not have to make another wood grain piece( it is Early Espresso, rubbed with kraft ink). I used the die to emboss around the frame so the bakers twine(from my Etsy shop) could fit inside. I used a stamp from the Work of Art to make the background color for my tree. I then used a tree die to cut three pieces. The trees are Certainly Celery and Early Espresso. I used a tag banner strip from something I ordered and I am not sure what color it is, except green!!!LOL! I stamped the Real Red and white flags that are on either side. Merry Christmas was stamped on a wood grain piece and the flag was fussy cut. Sequins from my stash were added to add a little more interest.
We are expecting rain this week, hopefully today. I will be out collecting water if it does. Hope you have a terrific day and find time to craft this week amidst all the summer fun I hope you are having. Thanks for stopping by, I also enjoy your visit and comments. Hope to see you in the gallery this week. I may be late commenting when I am feeling overwhelmed, but I do eventually get around for a visit and comment on as many as I can.
