HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

I hope everyone enjoyed the day and the kids had a safe night. I talked with my grandson tonight. He said "Nana, What are you going to be?" I remember he asked me that last year. Colin will be 4 in January. Life is wonderful!. I had a busy day, doing my Friday errands, which included taking our ballots to the county clerks office and getting gas ( I paid with a 10cent a gallon discount) at $2.33 a gallon. Yeah!!!

Tonight, I am posting a picture of my Gerber Daisy that I took today. Two summers ago, I bought some daisy plants. They bloomed that summer. I brought the container in last winter and put it out this summer. The catnip which was in the same container grew and thrived winter and summer. The daisy plants were big and green, but I never had one bloom. Two days ago I noticed some yellow peeking around the pole from the container. It was the first daisy in two years. Sometimes it takes awhile to find new friends. This picture is for a new found acquaintance. I have my first scrapbook pages on sale on ebay. The first day after I put them on, I got an e-mail from a woman who was so kind with her words, reaching out to me. Gen is her name. She has a home business, selling scrapbook supplies on line. As a stay at home mom of a 2 yr old, I can relate. I want anyone using scrapbook supplies to go to her store at:  http://www.gensscrapbookkitchen.com/ She has a lot of good things for sale. I wish her luck in her business. I know first hand how hard it is to make a business work and how important it is to stay at home with your children. Thanks Gen, for your encouragement.

READY SET SNOW!

Last night I stayed up way tooooo!!!!!! late doing the color inspiration. I finally posted and got to bed. I had another idea last night, but of course I could not do two cards. I chose the Embrace Life stamp set because I thought it better fitted the coin purse which had given Kristina the inspiration, However, the card I did tonight was the one I liked the best. Partially because I executed the idea better. That may have been because I was not up until after midnight doing the card.  LOL!

I used the same colors, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White. I used he snowmen from Holiday Lineup to make this card. The only change is I had no Ruby Red ribbon, so I used the Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon. Hope you like this card. I love this set.It is amazing how the Sage color actually works to make the snowmen look colder. I have done this card using the Pacific Blue and it works as well. Hope you enjoy the card. COLOR INSPIRATION #28

Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration this week uses Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, Sage Shadow, and Whisper White. Her color selection was based on a coin purse with flowers on it. Because of this, I chose this stamp set, Embrace  Life. 

I used the following: Sage Shadow card stock, Autumn Vine designer paper, Whisper White card stock, ticket punch, Pumpkin Pie 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Fire circle rhinestone, Crystal Effects, black stazon ink, Pumpkin pie, ruby red, and sage shadow classic stampin pads, a blender pen, a sponge dauber, stampin dimensionals, and mini glue dots.

DOWN TIME, A BEAUTIFUL DAY IN COLORADO

After all the hustle and bustle trying to get things done over the weekend, I should have taken the day off and spent it outside. I really wanted to get finished with all the Halloween projects and get on to Thanksgiving so I pushed myself at the stamp table, but did a lot of house stuff at the same time. However,  I did not get enough done today.  It will take all the time I have left to get everything done in time for Thanksgiving. I did do some more cleaning and some much needed cooking. My husband loves to eat. I got an order in today and got it divided up so I can deliver tomorrow, but did not get my table cleaned off.

I was tired tonight, but after dinner I sat at my table and made a card. I have wanted the Always stamp set for awhile and it came today. I did this card in Pink Pirouette, Pretty In Pink, Whisper White, and Chocolate Chip. I used the Chocolate ribbon and the Iridescent Ice embossing powder as well as Pretty in Pink designer paper. "HALLOWEEN AT HOME" 12"x 12" SCRAP BOOK PAGES

I finally finished my 2 page scrap book layout for Halloween. It is officially posted on ebay. For anyone interested my Id on ebay is 4craftypj9. I am posting the two page layout here for you to see. I am extremely pleased with my first two 12"x12" pages. Everything you see, I drew, cut out, chalked, inked. I used StampinUp stamps for the fence and the leaves. I used punches for the flowers. The pumpkins are three dimensional and have glitter eyes. Those is quite unique with vellum and card stock windows that were then watercolored. Halloween is officially put away. I will get busy cleaning up the table tonight so I can go on to new projects tomorrow.

OCTOBER CARD SWAP

I had said I was not posting any more Halloween cards. But, I do need to post our October swap cards. I swap cards with three other people. That makes it a small do able swap. Hopefully, it is fun and we learn from each other. This month it was a Halloween using any StampinUp stamp set, any colors, at least two layers and one handmade or bought embellishment. KRISINA WERNER COLOR INSPIRATION #27

Another great color challenge was posted yesterday on Kristina Werner's blog. As seen on the left the colors were red's? or pinks, or any variation. Yes, I especially love this color palette. I actually did three cards. A few days ago I posted my card, a study in pink. This simple card was made with scraps I had left and found cleaning off my table, and pulling out paper. I thought it was perfect for this challenge.

Last night, I did another card, using pinks and    bravo burgundy and designer paper with those colors. However in the back of my mind was my third card, which I did today. I took the heart theme from Kristina's post . I used Bravo Burgundy, Riding Hood Red, and Real Red card stock. With it I put various StampinUp designer papers, a clear button, two different ribbons, using reds. All stamps used in the post are StampinUp. A BEAUTIFUL, COOL DAY IN COLORADO

The snow and ice for the most part is gone. I always have a little left on my porch as it faces north and is in partial shade all day. It was down to 17 last night and the wind chill was even colder. But the great thing about Colorado, is that even when it is cold, the sun comes out and the warmth of it's rays comes through the windows. That is when I love to stay in and stamp.

I had lots of good phone conversations today with friends and family. The first card I made reflects our weather. I used a designer paper and a die cut snowflake to say, winter is coming. The second card I made to tell my daughter-in-law, who sent me pictures of Kate and Colin, that I love her a lot. I used more designer paper, in pinks and burgundy. This card and the card I did last in pinks, both cover the new Kristina Werner Color Inspiration for this week, which came out today. I will do a third card tomorrow and post all three on the Challenge tomorrow. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy both card. I am still not feeling my best. Cold, Rainy, and Icy

Today was one of those days, following one of those nights. It was late by the time I posted last night. The weather was playing havoc with Typepad, as I could not get on until right before midnight. When I finally got to bed, I could not go to sleep, I was cold. Around 5am I did get to sleep, but of course not for long. When I got up, it had snowed, was very cold and my Internet was not working right. I called the provider to see if the server was down, when I figured out that it was neither of my computers. I spent over an hour on the phone with a technician who put through all the usual. He said it must be the modem, since he new everything was working. Yeah right. He put me down for a service call, said it would be Friday, though that was unusual, he said for it to be such a long wait. I got off the phone, it rang again, it was the the local office of the provider saying the server was down. Great communication!!!! I won't bore everyone with the rest of the day, but it was more of the same needless to say. My one bright spot was e-mail pictures of my grand children in their Halloween clothes. Since I did not get to stamp, I will post Kate and Colin. They are so beautiful. Thank you Amber for sending their pictures. By the way it is 31 outside with a windchill of 24.

A BREAK FROM HALLOWEEN, MORE SNOW IN COLORADO?

We had a few showers earlier this evening. It sounded like ice hitting the roof and windows, but I did not go outside to check. The weatherman is predicting snow tomorrow. I only have to make another trip to the post office tomorrow. I will spend the rest of the day indoors. Today I had my usual errands to run, which included the post office and Walmart. I also did a little cleaning and a lot of straightening up and putting away on my work table. I put away all the Halloween, except for what I need to work on the two scrap book pages. I know you are really glad that I am finished with my Halloween cards.

Tonight I worked on two cards. They probably could not be more different. The first one is a study in pink. I went through my designer papers and picked out a few scraps and came up with this card. It is not lavish, but I like it a lot. The second card I used another scrap of paper to create a card. I started out with the scrap, chose brown card stock then a piece of the new Baja Breeze Blue, and then picked out a stamp. I hope you like both cards.
