This week's sketch over on the 2Sketches4You blog, is brought by Kazan Clark, # 55 and the sponsor is the Cutting Cafe, with their digital stamps. Just when I think I might be understanding the sketches, Kazan throws in this sketch, which was hard for me to read. The designers cards were all wonderful, but I am supposed to be coming up with my idea of the sketch, which is why this is coming in at the last day of the challenge. Great sketch, I am putting it aside to work again sometime. Be sure and take time to go look at the designers' cards as well at the other entries. I will look at them later. Remember I never like to look at them before hand, that way my idea isn't coming from the other enrants. Here's a "Way To Go" to all the participants of the challenge this week!
I have made a lot of cards using water color techniques this week. This card is in the opposite direction. It is just a light and fun card. A few weeks ago, I pulled pictures from the balloon race that is held in Albuquerque, New Mexico every year. I have always wanted to go and never have gotten to. Now that I live even farther away, the chances of me going are slim to none. If it is over three hours, I don't think I am going! Anyway. I thought this sketch might be good for a balloon card. My card base is blue and my mat is white. I used several things to make the grass and hills at the bottom, but it is not a dsp. My clouds is a piece of dsp from a 6" x 6" pad. My balloon, I built from circles, by cutting and piecing. There is a lot of depth, as all the things you see on the card with exception of the cloud dsp and the hills I made, are stamped then cut out and glued onto my card. I have found it is easier to stamp and cut out than to stamp directly, make a mistake and have to start over. All images and supplies Stampin'Up! The result for me is nicer as well. My day is again a rainbow of colors. I wish everyone a happy Sunday!
