This week's challenge on the City Crafter Challenge Blog, "I See Stars" is brought by June Latham. Week 19 has a beautiful collage of VanGogh's paintings, picked by KIrsty and put together by Ros. You did a wonderful job ladies. Be sure and go by and check out the designers cards and make one of your own.
When I saw the collage, a song from my childhood days came to mind. "Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day!" was written by Lee Pockriss and Paul Vance and sung by Perry Como in 1958. I was nine years old and it became one of my favorites to sing. We used to watch the stars on a summers night and every once in awhile we would see one falling from the sky. We would make a wish and hope it would come true. I knew kind of what I wanted todo, just not how or what colors I would use. I started the day yesterday working on tags for my eBay customers. I had so many things being sold yesterday that I had more tags to make than usual. I used this to play with the stars so I could get a feel for exactly what I wanted to do with my card. The tags and the card are nothing alike, the tags Americana with bright colors and the card with muted colors and a soft feel. I did not do blues, I did not have any paper suited for my card, so I chose the reds and greens. I made a star pocket and filled it with stars. However one did fall out! How about you? Do you have a star in your pocket, saved for a rainy day? Have a great Friday! Thanks for stopping by.
