I have been blogging in many places in the last weeks and one theme that seems to be out there is the concern about mojo? So many are concerned that their mojo is gone. How about you, do you feel that way from time to time? I have been on a roll lately, and have enjoyed making some good cards, ones that I am proud to say really speak to me, about me and where I am! Last year was a time of adjustment, lots of stress and change for my life. The new year seems to have had a better start for me with the drain from the holidays taking a back seat. I still have my ailments which I battle every day, but everything else seems to going OK. Should I hold my breath in fear that it will all go away? I think not! I will enjoy the sunshine while I have it.
I made this card tonight for all of you who have expressed experiencing lost ability to concentrate or focus on card making. I have commented to many of you that your mojo is not lost, just taking a rest. Isn't that what we do when we get tired? When I was having trouble focusing last fall I found the best way to get back to where I wanted was to start simple. Pick your most favorite stamp, element, color and design something simple. If you use a sketch from someone else that could be your starting place. Then make something, just for you to have fun, play with something old that you used to play with and enjoy. You will soon find your mojo coming back. Look at the simple card I made tonight. It is pretty, and there is nothing unusual about it. I probably would not win a challenge, but then I made it for you and for myself. Challenges are just challenges, a way to push yourself, take a risk, and put yourself out there. Too much is put on the winning. Everyone is a winner who puts in the effort to compete. Not everyone can be the winner. So If you learn one new thing, make one new friend, or have a few more people tell you they like your card, you have won. It is a learning process folks. There are as many good cards out there as there are challenges and as many opinions as to what is good and what is a winning card. So today, take a step back in time. Review how much you have grown since last year, decided what you want to accomplish this year and set a goal. You may not meet your goal in the end, but setting one is the first step. I went to comment on a friends blog today. She said her mojo was gone, yet she had made her first card since December and she had at least 70 comments on the card, concerned friends. Is her mojo gone? I think not! So steady up folks and take the leap that another blogger friend says she is taking this year! Have a great Thursday! You are all winners!
