I said that I would revisit my card for the City Crafter challenge for week 38 and I did tonight. The first card I made, my daughter chose red and I really had blue in mind. The card did not turn out to match the challenge criteria, like I thought it should. Now you might say, so what, you made the card. But I don't work that way. This challenges me personally and I can not help but take it seriously. It is not the win, but my ability to complete the challenge in a way where I am satisfied with the card, ie.. the outcome. So tonight I made another card, the challenge being to create a "white" card with one color as an "accent". This card is my style and the only way I would have like this card better is if I could have cheated and made the sentiment black! Go by and visit the City Crafter Challenge Blog, and check out the designer's cards! they have correctly used one color as the accent!
My card base is Baja Breeze, just a tiny edge of it shows. I have two white mats, the first is my flower frame embossed with the embossing folder, the second is embossed with a flower embossing folder. I added glittered butterflies, cut with an embossing sizzlit, added tiny pearls for heads. and blue rhinestones for flower centers. I have a lot of birthday cards to make this month so Happy Birthday was my choice again, stamped in Baja Breeze. We finally got rain today and I am not complaining! Have a great Monday!
