It is already the middle of January, doesn't time fly? Today we have another great color combo, brought by Arielle Gordon for our ColourQ Challenge, #68. The colors are Cherry Cobbler, Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Always Artichoke, and white. Be sure and check out the other designer's cards and try your hand at this wonderful combination.
There are two very dominant colors in this combination, Cherry Cobbler and Poppy Parade. I chose one of them, Cherry Cobbler, for the dominant color. It is also the darker of the two. I used a white embossed mat, white for my label with my sentiment, and my flower embellishment. I stamped the bottom layer(petals) of the flower with Cherry Cobbler, then sponged in Poppy Parade and inked the edges in the Cherry Cobbler. I stamped the second layer(petals) of my flower in Poppy Parade, sponged in the same and inked the edges in Cherry Cobbler.I stamped all my leaves in Always Artichoke then sponged them in So Saffron, and inked in Always Artichoke. My center is a piece of So Saffron, cut(but not cut through), then rolled and glued in place. This stamp set makes a beautiful Hibiscus looking flower. Again, I cut all my leaves and petals out, then built my flower. I secured each layer to acard stock circle then attached it with two dimensionals. By using these dominant colors in this way, they blend, but do not compete with one another. I love this card! You know how I love bold! Now it's your turn to make a card! Have a wonderful Tuesday! Back later!
