Did you have a good Memorial Day weekend? Long weekends have a way of slowing down what gets done at my house. This week Arielle has chosen some hot summer colors for the challenge over on the ColourQ Challenge Blog, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede and white. Join me and the other DT's this week and make a project with these wonderful colors.
My card base is kraft, but it is hidden (so no rules broken)by my white mat. I dry embossed the white with my texture plate which had just a little ink left on it from the last card. I cut a piece of the yellow dsp for the bottom, added a Pumpkin Pie rick rack made using my Sizzix die which I dry embossed with my Dots Brassy Plate, then added Melon Mambo rick rack trim. I stamped my owl three times in Soft Suede, Pumpkin Pi, and Melon Mambo, cutting out the eyes and nose in PP, the front body in MM, and using the SS as my owl base. I added brads for the eyes then I drew and cut out a graduation hat, punching a hole and adding a tassel made with yellow baker's twine. I punched stars in three colors and added rhinestones. My sentiment was stamped using my Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, and Melon Mambo Stampin' writers in that order. This fun card is headed to my niece for her graduation from high school in California. I can hardly wait to see what projects you come up with using these colors this week.
