The first night of this week's giveaway I made a card with fruit, and last night I used butterflies. In keeping with things in nature, I chose flowers for tonight's project. However, I did not make a card, rather a sketch notebook, an idea book. I wanted to do this last week, but I have not been able to find any plain notebooks. Everything is pricey and not really that night. winding down from a busy weekend, I decided to sit down and make one.
This sketchbook cover is 3" x 5 5/8". The inside pages are from a sketch book and measure 2 3/4" x 5 1/2". My strips were cut 2 3/4" x 11, then folded and glued together. I used some beautiful pink dsp to cover my card stock. If you look closely, I bordered the outside edge with a lace border punch in the same dsp. It adds both elegance and sturdiness to the edge. I made punched flowers out of the sketch book paper, rubbed with Blushing Bride ink, stamped using a roller in Early Expresso ink, then formed and misted with Pearl Glimmer Mist. I added flower rosettes from some trim I have and a pink rhinestone. The leaves were punched, rubbed with Lucky Limeade ink and glued as well. Last I stamped my tag on sketch book paper, cut out and glued to the front of the book. This sketchbook was easy to make, fairly inexpensive and so much fun! It would be a good way to use up 12" x 12" card stock that is left over from other projects. So what do you think, is this a project you have made or would like to make?
The question for this post giveaway, what color would be your choice if you were making one of these and would you actually use it to put in occasional designs or doodles in? I am enjoying the answers to the questions this week, you all sound grounded in where you are with your crafting, but not letting your creating go stale. For those of you who commented on my weekend, it went too fast and I enjoyed it. Have a great Monday!
