This week on the City Crafter Challenge Blog, week #69 is all about the "doodle". Believe it or not it is not that easy to make a card where doodles dominate. I have wanted to play all week and I am down to the final minutes. of the challenge. I really wanted to doodle a big piece of paper, but I ended up just doodling my background and my quilt pieces. Look at this page of doodles!
This card is all about doodling. It was so hard not to use some stamping, or to draw what I wanted to do. I settled on a quilt top card, using hexagons. My card base is Marina Mist, my border is in Barely Banana, and my quilt a white mat. I cut a hexagon pattern and cut out 12 white card stock pieces. I cut out two center pieces, one Pretty in Pink and one Pool Party. I ran both of these pieces through an embossing folder. Each of the twelve hexagons I did my doodling. Some were not what I wanted so I turned them over, a double doodle. I used various stampin writer colors to doodle. After gluing these down, I added stitches, then two hand cut butterflies also doodled on. I added butterfly trails, leaves, and little doodled phrases. Doodling is a fun and relaxing hobby and especially nice on scrap book pages. I have never used it exclusively on a card, but this one is "sew special"!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
