The challenge this week over on the City Crafter Challenge Blog, the theme is "All Dressed Up!". Do you remember when dressing up was the norm and not the exception? I do! When I was little beautiful clothes, jewelry and gloves could be seen at even the smallest event. So this made this a fun challenge and the only chance I have to see fancy dress, it is all in the dress!
This card is made using two different 12"x 12" stacks. I fell in love with the Lady Couture Stack(DCWV) several months ago when Michael's had it on 50% off. Every page is this beautiful. I cut my card background then the top piece, cutting away certain areas so I could add interest. The lady with this gorgeous black dress is of course one of my favorites. I cut out around her skirt so it could open out onto the card. I added pearls to her neck, waist, and ear. I also cut out around the roses so I could add green netting. the three pieces below the netting I cut from Super K's, Life's Journey Stack, which I have had for awhile. I don't know why I buy this stuff just to let it sit! I obviously like what I buy, because I am stingy with my money, but these two stacks are fabulous! This would make a great birthday card! What do you think? Black velvet, or chiffon?
Thanks to the ladies on the City Crafter Blog for spotlighting my card last week. I have enjoyed the challenge again this week. This one was made after mowing lawn, raking grass and cutting up tree limbs, so I am glad I had something to be inspired by! It is still August here, but when you read this it will be September 1. Hope your Thursday is a wonderful first day of the month!
