I made a fall card tonight to post to my blog friend Amy's, Flashback Friday Challenge. I was not really sure whether I wanted to try and find a card from the past or just do another. So I worked on this one tonight. I was really having a hard time focusing today(tired), so I sat for a long time in my craft space trying to figure out what I wanted to do. Maybe it is my somewhat uncluttered space I have been cleaning on for a week or maybe I was just ready for Friday!
I love fall, it is cooler outside and green things turn such lovely colors. I decided to play with the stamp set I used last night, but this time I focused on the leaves. I made a background stamp the word stamp, then the leaves. The colorsused are Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait, Soft Suede, and Early Expresso. After stamping I ran the backgroud cs through a diamond texture plate, then rubbed with Soft Suede and Early Expresso. I cut a tag(Sizzix die), stamped it, overstamped with a leaf and inked it. I tied a linen thread bow after wrapping it around my card. I matted with Poppy Parade and glued it onto my cs base(kraft cs stamped by laying it on top of a texture plate that had ink applied, then running the brayer across the back). I made a butterfly that I die cut, then ran through an embossing folder, inked and rubbed with ink, sprayed with glimmer mist and inked again. I am really enjoying working on new textures and layering color! Those of you who know me well know how much color, is a part of my stamping!
Be sure and check out Flashback Friday, there is still time to play. Once again it is Friday, I sure hope you have a good one. Enjoy!
