Tonight I am bringing a card and a project that I completed Sunday, but wanted to save this until my grandchildren received it. Besides what better way to start December than a box calendar.
I played with idea in my head instead of sleeping last night. I am sure I will be doing this again as I like the concept, but am not sure about the application. I embossed the trees and rubbed my color for the background. I stamped and re-stamped the ornaments so I could paper piece various elements in different colors, including silver embossing. I added glitter glue to give the ornaments the sparkly look, matching the glisten of the snow in the background.I do like this card, I would just like to tweak it.
This calendar box had me stumped for awhile. I just could not get a feel for what I wanted to do. I just knew that I had to have it done in time so that my grandchildren could open the first drawer December 1. I used a fun red and green dot paper left over from a few years ago. I cut out fronts for each box. then I started stamping. I covered up what I did not like before I got the boxes finished. What is it about an organized piece to make me do structured. But I think it turned out just fine and hope the kids will find magic in the drawers every day.
The box calendar is a Karen Foster Design that I ordered online and all the supplies are Stampin'Up! I will make me one as well, so the kids can open the last drawers here. Hope you have a wonderful Thursday, the first day of December!
