This week over on the City Crafter Challenge Blog, challenge # 98 is called Extra, Extra! They want to see super projects with 2 or more pieces of ribbon and 9 or more words. When I first saw that I needed I thought, now ay, but it wasn't that hard. Until tonight I thought I was only supposed to use two pieces of ribbon, that's what happens when I am tired when I read the post. I must admit, this was a fun challenge, so do you think you will join in?
I used a kraft card base(my favorite), but it is matted with white. I cut a die window and embossed the mat with flowers. I stamped 6 of my words in the window piece, Dare to Dream, Imagine, Create, Inspire, then the rest on my tag, You did it! Congratulations. My son and daughter-in-law will finally graduate in May, both getting Doctorate Degrees in Biology, and this card would be perfect for either one! I stamped and cut out the umbrella, the leaves and the butterflies(also water colored). I made a flower using three punched flowers and a ribbon rose center. Since I sewed the center flower I attached the pieces together by sewing it, also sewing the white ribbon bow and a green and white baker's twine bow through the mat. I use a sticky dot as well, but the sewing will keep this beauty from falling off. I added one last tiny bow to the umbrella handle, so there are four "ribbons". I am loving butterflies so there are three butterflies and two blue pearls. So what do you think?
I used somewhat softer colors on this card, so it didn't photograph so well, but I do love the colors! Hope you have a wonderful Friday and weekend!
