I am back tonight with a card I made last night. This is for the first challenge over on the retro sketch challenge blog, the successful owner of the ColourQ Challenge Blog, Arielle Gordon. Congratulations on your first sketch challenge. I have never been very good at sketches so I usually don't do sketch challenges. I wanted to support our fearless leader, so I gave this a go and what do you know I actually enjoyed it! why don't you give the blog a visit and give it a go!
I turned the sketch around as I saw my design this way. My card base is Cool Caribbean I matted with Vanilla cs.I used embossing on the first mat then made the three strips at the bottom, one stamped(SU Fresh vintage) and fussy cut, one die cut(Everyday Enchantment dsp) withTasteful Trims(Sizzix), and one out of a piece of crocheted lace-laced with baker's twine(Pool Party). I water colored my images with Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade and Pool Party Stampin Writers then paper pierced the edges. The last piece was the die cut and embossed butterfly to which I added rhinestones. The sketch did not have a sentiment, so I chose to leave it off. I can add it at a later date if I chose.
Tip: I adhered the lace to a small strip of card stock before attaching it to the card. Isn't this a fun sketch? I may just have to keep this one. Have a wonderful Thursday, the days are just flying by!
