Today was the first day of March, hope you had a good day! Ours came in like a lamb, so wind warnings be ware....the end of March maybe stormy! However, I am not going to worry about it too much. This was a beautiful 60ish day with lots of sunshine and a few clouds over head. I was really motivated to do nothing, but managed some cleaning and I even fixed supper. this afternoon, in between those things I managed to start a card and finish it after supper.
This is color play day and since a need quite a few thank you notes for flowers, etc. I used one of the combo's I needed to play with for this card. It has a kraft card base and is matted with white. Since my house smells of roses today, I colored roses!"The Best things in life aren't things", the beautiful and so true quote! I used, Cherry Cobbler, Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, and Soft Suede inks. the roses are a blend of those colors, the leaves, Crumb Cake and the sentiment, Soft Suede. I did stamp the roses in black Stazon but made sure not to press too hard so I would have a lighter impression. I used an ef in a non-conventional way. Do you want an impression, but just to be where you want it? Place your cs in the folder and hit it with a hammer on the edges where you want the impression, not hitting too hard. You can always do it more than once if you need more. Another tip, if you have a finger dauber that is old and is nubby, when you ink it, there will be pieces that get darker. If you tap lightly on the card stock, it will appear to have been spritzed, but the marks made by the uneven foam will be where you want them. I love how this card turned out and the colors sing to me!
Thanks everyone for sharing my birthday. I am still celebrating with flowers! Have a wonderful Saturday, hope you have fabulous weather!
