I meant to get some photo's of the new plants I planted on Labor Day! but alas, today was as busy as ever. I did play in the craft room again this afternoon. I have been wanting to make this for a few days and finally got the chance.
I spent a lot of time, first cutting paper and card stock, then die cutting all pieces from two dies...one 5 leaf die from Stampin'Up! and the other 4 leaf die from Tim Holtz. I divided them into sizes. I ran the card stock leaves through an embossing folder to add texture. With all this done, I sat down to sew. My cord is burlap thread, 18 feet as I doubled it for strength. I picked leaves from all the piles one at a time and just started sewing with a zig-zag stitch in orange thread. I may need to change that when I make a second one! What do you think...do you like orange or would you like off white? I added a tag, stamped and fussy cut. Below are lots of pictures. Do you know how hard it is to get good color and picture on something 9 feet long? Each garland I make will have different pieces, I hope to make at least three with what I cut today!
I hope this gets you in the mood to craft for fall...one of my favorite seasons to make for! Have a wonderful Friday...Yeah we are almost through another week to the weekend. I am praying for rain and hoping to sleep later on the weekend. Three mornings in a row the alarm has gone off at the wrong time, this morning it was 4:00 and my husband, who sets his phone alarm did not even hear it! Happy Friday!
