Happy last Tuesday in October! Do you feel the days slipping away, like I do? Our weather is like Indian Summer with highs in the 80's and lows in the high 60's. This week's colors are speaking softly, with lots of contrast if you want. Arielle chose the quilt and these colors, Peach Parfait, Basic Gray, Kiwi Kiss, Lovely Lilac and white. I chose to try and take the square theme to the next level. Hope you enjoy all the designers projects and are inspired to play with us!
This is a square card, the base 4 3/4", so just over-sized. I will make a special envelope for it and line it with flowers. I have three mats, one gray and two white. The squares were die cut, the window cut out to reveal the gray. I stamped the flowers and leaves in Basic Gray. It was left sitting while I worked on something else and it water colored just fine. I stamped more flowers and leaves in Basic Gray, water colored, fussy cut and glued them to the mat. I did have a hard time spreading the Lovely Lilac ink even after re-inking the pad, the ink did not want to flow. The leaves are Kiwi Kiss and the centers are the Peach Parfait. I also sponged ever so slightly the background with Peach Parfait. The Happy Birthday sentiment was also stamped onto the white mat. I stamped the square in gray and over stamped with Lovely Lilac. The sentiment "friend" was stamped in black, without a little black on the card, the camera does not want to focus. I stayed true to the colors for everything else. I chose the Lilac to be my main strong color as I really love purple roses! Did you notice that the squares were popped up with a dimension and that the leaves were hanging over the edge of the square window?
I love how the card turned out even though I would have loved to have done the flowers again. I water colored them three times and fussy cut them out once, so after a busy afternoon, I was ready to quit. My eyes were beginning to cry enough! Besides there has to be time to fix supper! Have a beautiful Tuesday, hope it is crafty! Thanks for stopping by to visit and all the wonderful comments you leave, they are appreciated as I know it takes time!
