Welcome to the last Tuesday of January....hasn't this month just flown by? Arielle has chosen pretty colors for us this week at the ColourQ . The colors are Kraft, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals, Pink Pirouette and white. Now I am sure I have mentioned it before, I am not a pink girl....so I always have trouble using pink colors. I will tell you my story, be inspired by my perseverance and then you can play along with us this week. LOL!
I started out Sunday making the miniature garland you see in the photo. I wanted something to decorate for Valentines and was using the colors from the challenge. I die cut two hearts at a time, at least 50 hearts, sewed them and was feeling good about things. I started working on my card, stamping and re-stamping until I got all the pieces laid out like I wanted. I quit just before 1am Monday to finish up at the computer. Well I went to Face-Book to wish my dil a Happy Birthday and in my feed was one of the teamies card. I thought now that is the wrong color so I checked the color pallet again.....Well folds, I had used Raspberry Ripple instead of Primrose Petals. I went to bed dreaming about the card I had to do!!! I got up just before 6:00 Monday morning and started working after I got my husband off to work. I did and redid the card 7 or 8 times before deciding it wasn't to be, I was not happy with it.
The new card has a Pink Pirouette card base and is matted with white. I did a lot of stamping and this card front 3 or 4 times before using this one. I stamped and colored three of the big flowers, the butterfly was the first. I guess I have got the butterflies down! I decided not to ruin the front with a sentiment which just wasn't showing up. I did use the right colors, remember I am not good at photography either. I inked the small flowers with my markers and that is why they are darker than the rubbed large flower. I used all the colors!!!!
I did not re-do the garland! and below see the last re-do of the first design. It just wasn't happening with this one, but it is good enough to send! Notice I did not add a sentiment on this one either. Since I was having a pink day with my brain, I decided to quit!
I cut this bird out four times, forget how many times I stamped him!!! So Happy Tuesday to all of you...be off and create something beautiful so I can be inspired when I visit your blogs this week. And...oh by the way...thanks for stopping by...I love it when you visit!
