This time last year I was getting over the sudden loss of Tigger, my 12 year old cat. Now I guess many of you would call mourning a cat crazy, but when you live day to day with them, each loss is always hard. I had been thinking of him all week, on the 4th of July, he wasn't there to watch the Rangers play as he did last year. I did not craft yesterday until late afternoon. This card was made as with a loss a new kitten came into my life...baby Tigger. Well, that baby is over a year old now and he makes me smile, even at 4am when he brings one of his toy balls for me to throw. My husband told me the other morning that I must have been having fun with baby Tigger because he heard me laughing at 4:30am, and he was so right. I think I have smiled more in the last year than the previous years.
I used a few left over pieces included the card base which is a pale yellow. It is matted with white cs, stamped using the Work of ARt for the background, embossed and die cut. I die cut Smile and die cut again from some scraps. I inserted the scrap letters into the mat. I finished the flowers, fussy cut and glued them as well. I stamped, fussy cut and popped up the little birdie with a dimensional. Scattered sequins from my Etsy shop and a border stamp at the bottom finish this card nicely. The colors are so bright and cheerful.
With the loss of a loved one whether human or pet, there comes a smile after. I hope you have a beautiful Thursday and tell the ones you love them often! Thanks for putting up with my grief for my friend, no one really ever takes the place, but we just move on.
