Happy Tuesday...this last day of September! Growing up I did not know many people with September birthdays. One was my mother and another was the girl next door. Her birthday was the last day of September. Now I did not keep up with her, but it was east to always remember that today was her birthday. This week Arielle has chosen these great colors for our challenge over at the ColourQ, Chocolate Chip, Island Indigo, Dusty Durango, Kiwi Kiss and Vanilla. I procrastinated a bit, I used white instead. I can never get a good picture using Vanilla.
I have three cards for you today. All cards have a kraft card base and are matted with white cs.I am working on perfecting arsty backgrounds, so that is the thing I have given the most attention to. The first one, is the first card I made. I stamped and die cut feathers in Chocolate Chip, my flowers were stamped, water colored with Dusty Durango, fussy cut and glued. The background was stamped first with a Work of ARt stamp in Island Indigo and Kiwi Kiss. I then used a script stamp and Chocolate chip ink to complete this background. I added thinking of you and some moonlight sequins.
The second and third cards are similar, again I worked on the backgrounds trying to duplicate them, but yet trying to see that they were different as well. This time I used leaves and a butterfly on each card. All the colors are there, I just used them in different ways, emphasizing some more than others in each card.
So which is your favorite, or maybe you don't really care for any of them. When Dusty Durango was first introduced I did not like the color at all. After it was retired, I think it grew on me. Do I use it often? No only because I am so busy using the colors we have, not retired, and rarely go back to a retired color unless we have it in a combo for this challenge.
Did you notice that I dry embossed this last card with dots? They are there. That is all for me today, you are probably saying that is enough. Hope to see you at the ColourQ this week, I know everyone is super busy enjoying your fall. Take care and thanks for stopping by for a visit. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
