Happy first Tuesday in November, Election Day here and also time for another challenge over at the ColourQ. The colors Arielle chose for this week were difficult for me. It took 2 takes for me to come up with a tag I liked. The colors are Peach Parfait, Handsome Hunter, Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade and white, all retired colors! In conjunction with our challenge, Tracey McNeely is sponsoring her 4th annual "25 Days of Christmas Tags. Tracey is a former team member and we at the colourQ are so happy to paricipate by making a tag this week. Check out her blog and the prizes she is offering there. Comment here to put your name in for a prize from her blog and for the rules as well, she will be drawing on the 28th of November.
I know these are wonderful colors, but I was stumped when I first started. The tag base is Poppy Parade and it is matted with white cs. The top piece was embossed with a stripe ef then tiney strips of Poppy P. cs were glued in the gap. I thought it very festive. I added a piece that I embossed with a snowflake ef and a strip of Handsome Hunter in between. There are three stamped trees and some sequins for my Peach Parfait. Joy was die cut in Poppy P. Striped ribbon, a white piece of bakers twine and a row of rhinestones finish this tag. This is a fun tag and will go on a large gift!
The next tag is only 4 5/8", so not quite as large. The base is Lucky Limead and is matted with Handsome Hunter and white cs. I used the large dot ef to emboss the white. I stamped two ornaments I water colored the holly berries in Poppy Parade and Peach Parfait, the leaves in Lucky Limeade and Handsome Hunter. The ornament top was embossed with clear ep for shine. I water colored the center piece and fussy cut it away from the rest of the ornament. The top and bottom pieces which were cut away I rubbed with Peach Parfait at the top and Poppy Parade at the bottom. I glued all pieces to the second stamped ornament and added a piece of sparkly tinsel. Joy was die cut in Poppy P and glued to the tag. There is white satin ribbon and Lucky Limeade and white bakers twine.
