It's Thursday and I supposed it will be hot today! So although the flavor of the day is scraps...it could be warm weather prevails! May is a beautiful month and always special as things grow and the earth is beautiful once again. It is also the time when we say goodbye to many products in the stamping world and say hello to new colors and a new catalog. I used some old retired things with some things not retiring to make two scrap cards. They are so different, yet both beautiful!
The first card has a navy blue card base and inside is matted with some white paper for writing. On the front of this card I used two pieces of designer paper and a red cs along with the navy card base. I added a die cut stitched mat of white cs, a lot of stamping and an anchor and two die cut birds. Best Dad Ever is the sentiment...a great birthday or Father's Day card!
This second card is so different from the first...but I forgot to tell you that I am using up a few card bases that I already had cut. I try and do that each week so I am not stuck with a pile of cards. This base is a mint green with a mint piece of dsp, stitched on the edges. I added a white die cut mat to which I added scraps of dsp. All are machine stitched to the mat.For You is the sentiment and a stamped, water colored, fussy cut flower was added...also a scrap already stamped. Papers are from more than one year, I do love the look!
I think I should just quit buying and use all scraps! But who will do that? These were fun to make and for the next few days I will be trying to use more scraps. I hope this inspires you to use some of your scraps...unused items and embellishments! Have a wonderful Thursday and thanks for stopping by for a visit!
