I had a lovely Wednesday, meeting for lunch with a gal who found my blog and has been commenting. We have a lot in common age, stamping and a University! I want to thank my new found friend for a lovely hand stamped calender as well as lunch. Once the new year starts, I will post on the first day of the month, the new page she made. A labor of love for sure and I was honored to receive one. That being said, I did not get a lot done, so here I am late again. I had to watch the last game of the World Series and was totally bummed when Kansas City lost. I really thought they had it altogether, but I think they just ran out of steam and San Francisco had the better team the last game.
That said, I promised no more leaf cards, at least for a while so in honor of my friend I made a Christmas card using a pine tree, a set she loves. I started doing this type of card last winter when the snowflake dies came out. I put a snowman behind a snowflake so this time I put a tree scene, Colorado Pines. We had an acre and the smell was wonderful. I remember when I first moved to Trinidad, the bears still used my sidewalk to walk through the yard. I was outside one early afternoon, looked up from the porch and there was a straggly bear coming up towards my deck porch. Me being me, I told the bear to leave and he did. I never saw him again, he probably started coming at night! The bears were so hungry they would knock over the trash cans at night before trash day. Anyway, I am sure you did ot come to read my stories, so here is my card. It is done with a Pool Party card base and two mats, one with the snowflake window the other stamped and embossed trees and some ink rubbed skies. Just another snow day in Colorado.
By the way, I lived in Allentown Pennsylvania, in a two story house across from a large park. I don't remember the trees in our yard, but I do remember the ones in the park. The countryside always had color in the fun. Thanks for all your lovely comments, I do appreciate them, it makes me want to stamp more. Have a terrific Thursday and thanks for stopping by for a visit.
