I am burning the candle at both ends, folks, I have so much going on as it is glorious summer time. So besides playing with stamps and paper, I have gardening and watering, it has been 100 the past few days, as well as the normal house work, cooking paying bills! I think I need a vacation! I am back posting another card for the challenge over on the Let's Get Trendy Now! 3 Blog. Today's post is for the "Stitching" Challenge. Do you like to stitch on your cards? There are so many ways you can do this and there is still time left for you to play along!
My card base is Pool Party, and is matted with white cs. I straight stitched five hexagon quilt shapes to the mat. These were punched from Serendipity papers(Basic Grey) that I received from the last Let's Get Trendy Challenge. The colors were just the summery colors I needed to make this card. The mat was machine stitched in a zig zag around the edges, then embossed with the Honeycomb Ef(SU) using my hammer technique. I used a tag die(Chalk Talk) to cut a tag from kraft cs, which I also straight stitched. I added a flower(Flower Shop-SU) which was stamped in Real Red ink, fussy cut and popped up with a dimensional. A red button sent to me by Kirsty was added to the center of the flower. Leaves were cut from same designer paper and a baker's twine bow was made with green and red. The sentiment, "HI" was added by marking the x's and cross stitching them in black embroidery floss.
I hope you can see the stitching, click on the picture for a closer look! I had all sorts of problems getting this photo down loaded on my old computer. It is just slow tonight, but it did mean it took longer than I wanted to get this post up! Have a Fabulous Friday! Check out the Let's Get Trendy Now! 3 Blog and give, Amy, Julie, and Yvonne a shout out! Thanks ladies!and thank you for stopping by!
