Welcome to the first August challenge over at the ColourQ. It is tuesday, one of my favorite days and Arielle has brought some of my favorite colors, they just happen to be very popular. The colors are Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Tempting Turquoise, and white. Easy colors to work with and don't you just love the plaid !
I made two cards, the first one has a blue card base and is matted with white cs. My background is very detailed. First I used the Work of Art set , then I made a stencil using a punch...one square and I sponged the squares using all the colors in a random pattern. Next I partially embossed with a sizzix folder, sorry I don't know the name it isn't a SU folder, but I love the squares. I also punched some squares out of the white mat, filled them on the back with white cs, using the same punch I used for the stencil, to give more texture to the card. I die cut some branches with leaves then stamped them with the same Work of Art stamp. and inked the stem. The butterflies were stamped, water colored, fussy cut, glued to the base and glitter glue applied.
The second card has a blue card base and is matted with white cs. The scene is one of my favorites, a sea scene. It is simple stamping and stamping off. The birds are die cut from Impression Obsession and beautiful dies. I added inking and sequins from my Etsy shop. some more partially embossing using two folders. Both cards have the same sentiment. Love both cards this week, no problem thinking up designs with these colors.
Hope you have enjoyed the new combo today and that my cards will inspire you to join us. Thanks for stopping by for a visit. Have a wonderful Tuesday!
