Since I posted last Friday, so much happened in my world. The most notable it snowed all day, January 10, 2021. Around 4" fell in this part of Texas, last snow, Christmas of 2017 just about an inch. I haven't seen that much snow since leaving Colorado in 2009. It was really quite thrilling until Sunday night when all had melted and I woke with dry heaves, terrible dizziness and other issues I won't describe. It seems once ever year, although last year it was twice, I get something, don't know what that leaves me useless. I managed to sleep 24 hrs, off and on with no food to eat and little water.
Moving on to Wednesday night, I am a huge fan of Texas Tech having gone to school there. The Red Raiders came to town ranked #15 in men's basketball to play the Texas Longhorns, ranked #4...It looked like it was going to be a bad night we were down by 10 pts at halftime. Tech clawed their way back and the lead went back and forth until the end with Tech holding for the last possession and scored with .03 seconds left. Texas drove but missed a 3 point shot that would have won the game. You say, who cares...well a lot of Raider fans! Tech player doing...a short interview after the game...too excited about celebrating in the locker room!
With all this going on I have managed to get a few cards made including this Christmas card, actually 4 of them for a friend who buys a lot of my cards to send and today a birthday card for my grandson who will be 16 next week. I did not take a presentable photo of the birthday card, I was so eager to get it mailed, but I used a comic book page as the background.
The Christmas card seen below is one of my friends favorites, I don't know how many times I have duplicated this card, although they turn out a little different every time I do a set. Card base is Cherry Cobbler and it is matted with white cs. I used various stamps from different manufacturers, including Stampin'Up! Just a cold winter scene on a peaceful calm night.
I don't know where the Blue Jays were on the 10th, but this Blue Bird reminds me of those who loved to be out and about when the snow was on the ground in Colorado. To all of you are who are celebrating some victory this week and my friend Ros, who had another birthday, be thankful for the good times. I am thankful for my illness being short, the beautiful large falling snowflakes and of course a victory for my team. I am so happy to be posting again even if it is only once a week, it gives me some inner peace to pause and reflect upon the past 7 days. Thanks for all who stopped by again as I grow my audience again. I hope you found some inspiration for the next week! I love you all!
